The Vegan Kind #3

You may have noticed that I took a little break from my blog, but I am back now full of ideas for posts. Today I am starting back with a post on The Vegan Kind box. This month was their three year birthday which happens to share their birthday with Vegan month. Novembers box was another brilliant one and it also featured one of my all time favourite cookies. Let’s get on with the post shall we.

Lets start with the obvious shall we, you can’t have a birthday without birthday cake and lucky for us they included a Lenny and Larry’s birthday cake cookie(£2.50)! I have tried this previously with another vegan sub box and lemme tell you this thing right here is divine! I love it – plus look at the protein, 16g!! And people worry about “where do Vegans get protein from!”. If you haven’t tried this cookie please do – you won’t regret it – it comes in several flavours which I am dying to try.fullsizeoutput_114

Believe it or not I have never tried Nutella so when I saw the Mr Organic Chocolate spread(£3.99) was in the box I was intrigued. James was really excited to try this. I have a recipe idea using this spread so if it works out how I want it to, expect a post on it soon.

I have been looking for a vegan friendly lip balm for the longest time so when I noticed the Fruu lip balm (£2.99) in the box (it was hidden in the bottom) I was so excited. It’s made with avocado and mango plus other fruits. It is so creamy on the lips and none drying (I hate it when lip balms make my lips dry!). It has left my lips incredibly soft after one use – it is a small tube however I have a feeling it is going to last a long time. As it is small it is the perfect size for your handbag. I have my eye on their Cherry lip balm!

I was rather dubious about trying the Cheeky Monkey Peanut Butter puffs(£1.99), and I have to say once I opened the bag – I couldn’t do it. As someone who is not a fan of nuts/peanut butter etc the scent was so overbearing. James tried one and he said they weren’t his cup of tea. A lot of people on Instagram seem to be loving them – so if you like peanut butter then give them a try. They are used a lot for infants who are teething. Although I do love the fact that the owner of the puffs is an Israeli mum of four who is a dedicated vegan (girl power!).

I absolutely loved the Foods of Athenry Just Oat bite sized Oat flapjack bites(£2.95), so moreish and the perfect size for a treat or two. The Popchips(£0.85) were also really tasty – I have recently renewed my love of Salt and Vinegar – so anything in this flavour is a plus for me!

Every month in the boxes you receive a recipe card and after six months you are sent a folder to put all your recipes in. As this month was my six month getting the box, I received mine. I was really excited as I am going to put not only the recipes I get from TVK but other ones I find a long the way.

In this months box we also received a 20% off discount for the Vegan clothes store Ethics and Antics, the store was founded by the vegan athlete Tim Shieff . I will be using the code to buy myself one of their famous t shirts.

Overall this box was brilliant and once again a very Happy Birthday to The Vegan Kind – I hope this year brings you nothing but success. They have also opened up a shop where you can buy vegan treats as well as previous boxes. I highly recommend TVK you won’t be disappointed in their box!

Did you get this months box? If so – what did you think? If you could have one item in a subscription box – what would it be? Leave your comments below.
